Accounting Manager

We seek an Accounting Manager with 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role, to join our client's Finance team, with a direct line to the Director of Accounting. You will ultimately report upstream to the CFO, one of the best and most respected finance leaders in Kansas City. Not only will you perform complex tasks related to inventory, month-end, annual audit, and reporting, you will coach and mentor your team to grow in their careers. Job Description

Lead the month-end close process with the Accounting Team and Market Administrators.

Organize and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations of complex balance sheet accounts.

Review account reconciliations of the Accounting Team and make corrections.

Analyze sub-ledgers to the general ledgers and resolve differences.

Review depreciation schedules to ensure compliance with accounting policies.

Provide support to the Accounting Team and Market Administrators.

Develop a good understanding of all Inventory Processes and Systems.

Assist with the annual financial audit, including investigating and resolving audit findings.

Lead the month-end close process with the Accounting Team and Market Administrators.

Prepare financial reports.

Complete special projects.
Qualifications

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, with a CPA preferred.

Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and tax regulations with experience in telecommunications or related industries, a plus or not mandatory.

Experience analyzing financial data, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and giving insights and recommendations to make informed decisions.

Have the ability to motivate and manage a team of accountants, delegate tasks, provide feedback, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Able to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-accounting colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.

Strong Excel skills and solid experience using accounting software.
