About our Client

Our Pittsburg, KS client is a leading electrical services company with a niche in the railroad sector. They seek an IT Director responsible for maintaining and supporting the corporate network infrastructure, determining business requirements for IT systems, managing the design and improvements, implementing IT infrastructure, and evaluating security risks and users/privileges. The ability to work effectively, manage the IT and support the executive management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

    • Experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects

    • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems

    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization

    • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills

    • Strong knowledge of project management principles

    • Server Setup and maintenance

    • Phone system setup and maintenance

    • Virtual Machine Setup and maintenance

    • Needs experience in Office365 administration

    • Needs experience with on-premises Active Directory

    • Needs experience with Azure Active Directory

    • Oversee IT operations and supervise systems and IT staff

    • Develop a strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems)

    • Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget

    • Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and optimize the use of information technology

    • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance

    • Create processes and standards for the selection, implementation, and support of systems

    • Provide direction, guidance, and training to IT staff

    • Confirms program objectives and specifications by testing new programs, comparing programs with established standards, and making modifications. 

    • Improves existing programs by reviewing objectives and specifications, evaluating proposed changes, recommending changes, and making modifications. 

    • Experience with MS Dynamics and Sage50 and an accounting conversion is a big plus.
