The Director of Agent Development is responsible for working with Tallgrass agents to aide in their growth and development, provide coaching and guidance through weekly 1:1 meetings/call and communicate with Tallgrass leadership with recommendations and agent progress.  The duties of the Director of Agent Development include managing the progress of Tallgrass agents with a tenure of 6 months or less, be available for agent calls/emails to assist with questions and concerns, and providing agents with tracking reports to review progress versus expectations. Directors of Agent Development will be self-motivated and takes personal pride in their work and must have superior communication/customer service skills as well as excellent problem-solving abilities.

Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Conduct 1:1 Coaching/calls with agents 6 months or less in tenure to ensure agents are managing their sales funnel appropriately.

  • Tracking agents' monthly progress compared to their GM expectations.

  • Coach/train agents on specific topics such as sales approach, organization and time management.

  • Oversight and coaching all new agents on managing their books properly as trained by Tallgrass Freight.

  • Generate and provide reports to agents to show monthly GM pacing compared to their targets (Agents 6 months or less)

  • Manage TGFU agents to provide weekly oversight on workload, processes and managing their sales funnel

  • Provide TGFU agents with weekly reports for TGFU rankings based on margin and monthly pacing.

  • When needed, assist with all oversight to ensure TGFU agents are meeting expectations. 

  • Be available to answer any questions relative to their book of business, industry/sales insight, and all TGF related matters.

  • Create an environment of respectful, prompt, and efficient customer service relations to internal and external customers

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with agents and company stakeholders

  • Drives process improvement for business units to decrease costs and improve productivity

  • Drives processes to improve operational productivity

  • Maintain a professional work attitude among co-workers and clients

  • Maintain a high level of attendance, report for work on time daily

  • Perform functions as directed by Supervisor
     

Minimum Skills Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ experience in managing and developing freight brokers providing training, feedback, and recommendations for growth

  • Proficient in freight sales with emphasis in FTL sales, pricing and operations.

  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) and openness to providing feedback to help iterate the business

  • Demonstrated experience developing and growing a book of business as a freight broker

  • Ability to work effectively in a business environment characteried by complexibity, ambiguity and rapid change

  • Excellent change management, organization, and priortization skills

  • Trained on all documentation, record completion related to the freight brokerage operation procedures

  • Ability to work in a fast paced envirornment and come up with creative problem solving ideas and methods

  • Strong self-discipline and time management skills.

  • Proven ability to understand company needs and translate needs into solutions

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office tools

  • Ability to prfessionally convers with customers, sales, management and other colleagues on a daily basis

  • Maintain a professional attitude among co-workers and agents

  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills (written and verbal)
